About this product
This is a tested, working AKAI Professional APC40 MIDI controller for Ableton Live. It features 40 pad triggers, 9 channels, and footswitch inputs for additional control. The unit is digital and connects via USB Type B. It includes 2 pedal inputs for sustain or expression pedals. This used unit comes without any accessories, so be prepared to supply your own cable and power adapter. Despite being pre-owned, it has been tested and is fully functional, making it an affordable option for Ableton users seeking hands-on control.
Our take
Grabbed this used APC40 for my Ableton setup, and it works perfectly. The pads are responsive, and the 9 channels give great control over clips. The two footswitch inputs are a nice addition for hands-free control. However, being used, it shows some cosmetic wear, and the lack of included cables is a bit of a hassle. For $129, it's a steal if you're okay with buying a USB cable and power adapter separately. The build is solid, typical of Akai gear. Worth it for a budget-friendly Ableton controller, but check for any sticky buttons beforehand.
