Our take
I picked up this used original Launchpad for the price of a pizza—literally $23.90. For that, it's a no-brainer if you're curious about launching clips in Ableton. The pads are still responsive, and the LED feedback works fine. It's super portable and doesn't need a power adapter. But don't expect the build quality of newer models; it feels a bit plasticky and the pads are not velocity-sensitive. Also, it only has USB connectivity—no MIDI ports. It's a bare-bones tool, perfect for beginners on a tight budget, but you'll outgrow it quickly if you need more control.
